Bhagavad Gita Park sign in Brampton vandalized

14th July 2023 – The park sign at Shri Bhagavad Gita Park in Brampton was vandalized earlier today. The park sign had been spray painted in red and “Modi is Terrorist (BBC)” was written all over it.

The park was dedicated to the numerous contributions of the Hindu diaspora in Brampton. The park spread over 3.75 acres was renamed last year in September by City of Brampton.

The City of Brampton was quick to condemn the act and promptly reported the matter to the Peel Regional Police.

This is yet another act of hate crime against the Hindu community in Canada. Previously, several Hindu temples across Canada have been targets of hate. In the City of Brampton, this is the third such attack in 2023.

No official statement has been received from the Peel Regional Police (at the time of writing) which is still investigating the previous attacks.
