Mississauga teenager charged with 1st degree murder in Mississauga Homicide incident

18th September 2021 – Today, Peel Regional Police has arrested an 18-year-old man, Jastaran Sandhu, from Mississauga for a homicide which took place in Mississauga yesterday.

Last evening at around 8 PM, two groups of men got involved in altercation in the area of Derry Street and Airport Road in the City of Mississauga (near the Hull Street). In the tragic incident, two men were struck by gunshots, at which point the group involved in the disturbance fled the area. The two men were transported to area hospitals, where one of the men, a 21-year-old man from Brampton, died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

The other two males were transported to the hospital and released later after treatment.

Police is still searching for the others who were involved in the incident and is seeking support from the community in providing any leads such as surveillance footage or dashcam video in this investigation. Nick Milinovich, Deputy Chief of Investigations and Emergency Services said “We will be relentless in our pursuit to of those responsible for this incident. Similarly, we are committed to working with our communities to prevent other tragedies from occurring.”
