23rd November 2021 – International Hindu Foundation (IHF), a Calgary based Hindu organization, conducted a special food donation drive last Friday on the auspicious occasion of Gurpurab and Dev Deepawali. The drive ran in collaboration with Calgary Drop-In and Rehab Centre Society.
“With the objective of serving a warm meal to our local community, we found it a perfect day to celebrate our happiness with our fellow Canadians, especially those who are in need”, said one member of IHF, who chose to be anonymous. “We are blessed by Shri Ram who gives us strength to do such work”, he added.
During the drive, over 200 homeless and needy were served with hot and fresh vegetarian cheese pizza and soft drink.
