City of Brampton announced its Citizens Awards for 2019 and 2020

3rd August 2021 – Last month, the City of Brampton announced its Citizens Awards for the year 2019 and 2020. Since 1974, the City of Brampton has been offering a community recognition program for outstanding citizens in the community and is committed to acknowledging the admirable achievements in sports, arts, inspirational acts, acts of valor and long-term volunteer service within Brampton.
This year’s awards included nominations for the below categories:
- Sports Achievement- Individual/Team
- Arts Acclaim
- Inspirational Award
- Long Term Service (10-year, 25-year, 35-year, 50-year)
- Emergency Services Award of Valor
- Citizen of the Year (Senior, Adult, Youth)
- Ken Giles Amateur Athlete of the Year Award presented in partnership with the Brampton Guardian
A community-service champion and celebrated Inspector of the Peel Regional Police, Bob Nagra, was awarded the Citizen of the Year in the Adult category for 2019.
