Canada responds with its own travel advisory to India; ask travelers not to visit areas bordering Pakistan

29th September 2022 – Almost one week after India issued a travel advisory to Indian nationals and students travelling to Canada citing increasing hate crimes, sectarian violence and anti-India activities, Canada today has responded with its travel advisory for Canadians travelling to India.

The advisory asked all travelling to India to exercise a high degree of caution.

Any travel to areas within 10 kms of border with Pakistan in states of Gujarat, Punjab and Rajasthan should be avoided. The security situation is unpredictable and landmines and unexploded ordnance could be present.

Any travel to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir should also be avoided for threat of terrorism, militancy, civil unrest and kidnapping.

Non-Essential travel to states Assam and Manipur should be avoided.

This advisory did not include Atari Border crossing and Union Territory of Ladakh.
