Brampton man becomes latest homicide victim in Toronto; was shot dead

8th February 2026 – Chandan Kumar Raja Nandakumar, a Brampton resident, has become the latest victim of a homicide in Toronto.

Toronto Police confirmed that on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at approximately 3:31 p.m., police responded to a call for a Shooting in the parking lot of Woodbine Shopping Centre in the Rexdale Boulevard and Highway 27 area.

It is reported that:
• officers arrived on scene and located a male victim with gunshot wounds
• the victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries
• the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at hospital

The 37-year-old man moved to Canada few years back and was an active member of Shirdi Sai Baba Temple in Brampton. Chandan was also active in the Kannada community. “He was truly a kind-hearted and humble person, always willing to support and be part of several community social events” wrote his friends.
