4 Universities dis-associate themselves from the Hindumisic Online Conference

26th August 2021 – Four universities have dis-associated themselves from the upcoming Hindumisic online conference ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva’ set to take place from 10th – 12th September 2021 after Hindu organizations register their protest.

Washington based Hindu advocacy group, Hindu American Foundation (HAF), had written to all 41 participating universities and asked them to remove their name. Their online campaign drew whopping 650,000 emails in less than 24 hours which overwhelmed the universities. University of Dalhousie, Princeton, Illinois and Massachusetts-Boston have confirmed to HAF that they are not the official sponsors of the event. HAF is calling for more action from the Hindu and other friendly communities as the battle is far from over.

Locally, in Canada, Mississauga based Hindu Forum Canada (HFC), has reached out to the Canadian universities which are promoting the event. The talks are still going on with the University of Toronto and McMaster.

The upcoming online conference titled ‘Dismantling Global Hindutva’ can best be called as ‘sham’ and certainly promotes systemic discrimination against Hindus in the West. It is ironic that the organizers of the conference are conducting this conference while the world would be commemorating the 20th anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the Twin Towers by religious fanatics which resulted in the death of over 2,900 innocent lives. The bizarre support of certain universities to this conference exhibits their hypocrisy under the guise of ‘freedom of speech’ and proves the systemic ‘Hindumisia’ as the world is witnessing the religious extremism in Afghanistan where Hindu, Sikh and Christian minorities have been completely wiped out.

The organizers are also under lot of pressure to take down the event as netizens have called out their duplicity and have filled the social media with memes.
