Two Ontario men charged in drug trafficking investigation; police seizes over 1100 pounds of cocaine

1st December 2024 – Illinois State Police (ISP) has arrested and charged two Ontario men on multiple counts in a drug trafficking investigation.

Vanshpreet Singh, 27-year-old and Manpreet Singh, 36-year-old, both from Ontario have been charged with:

  • Possession of Cocaine (Class X Felony)
  • Possession with intent to deliver Cocaine (Class X Felony)
  • Cocaine Trafficking (Class X Felony)

On 29th November 2024, at approximately 2:10 PM local time, an ISP trooper conducted a commercial motor vehicle investigation on a Volvo truck-tractor semi-trailer combination on Interstate 80 eastbound in Henry County. During the inspection, the trooper observed several indicators of criminal activity. On subsequent inspection, cocaine was found in the vehicle. Police has seized the cocaine with an approximate weight of 1146 pounds with a street value of over $40 million dollars.

Both the accused were taken into custody and transported to the Henry County Jail pending a pre-trial release hearing.
