Brampton man charged under Break and Enter and Stolen Vehicle Investigation

26th April 2025 – Investigators of Peel Regional Police have arrested one man involved in a break-and-enter and auto theft investigation in Brampton in late 2023

On November 4, 2023, two suspects unlawfully entered a Brampton area business that rents luxury vehicles. While inside, the pair stole several vehicle keys along with two luxury vehicles, a 2022 GMC SUV and a 2022 Rolls Royce worth nearly $750,000.

Following a lengthy and complex investigation, it has been determined that the stolen vehicles were exported to foreign markets. Investigators have since identified the two suspects believed to be responsible.

On April 1, 2025, Charmeet Matharu, a 29-year-old male from Brampton, and held in custody pending a bail hearing for the following offences:

  • Break and Enter with Intent
  • Theft of Motor Vehicle X2

A warrant for the arrest of the second suspect, 26-year-old Nikhil Sidhu of Brampton, has been issued for the same offences. Police continue to search for and investigate his whereabouts.
